User Group Meeting
The annual Kingston Developments User Group meeting was held on Thursday 22nd May at Kingston's offices in Hemel Hempstead. The forum was well attended by users and was based on discussion of how KBS can be moved forward to the mutual benfit of all users and see what ideas have been formulated over the past 12 months since the last meeting.
Kingston have moved
As of 1st September 2007 Kingston Developments have moved back to Hemel Hempstead and into the presitigious Workhotel. In actual fact, Kingston used to be based in the same building years ago but it has been totally revamped following the Buncefield disaster and now is a fully serviced office block with many facilities.
KBS is fully Vista compliant
Following many tests and trials, Kingston Developments are pleased to announce that KBS is now fully compliant running under Windows Vista. Users have not had to install modified programs, the changeover has been seemless.
ISO 9001:2000 certification
Kingston Developments have just been accredited with ISO 9001:2000 certification for internal Quality Management systems. This standard lets all customers and prospects know that Kingston have a quality system in place and that we are continually looking at ways in which we can improve not only our customer service but also our internal working processes.
Kingston begin ISO 9001:2000 process
Kingston have begun implementing the recognised ISO 9001:2000 standard. This quality assurance standard will allow Kingston to promote the ethos of continual improvement in QMS and services to the mutual benefit of Clients, Suppliers and themselves.
BSI PAS 76 Value Added Tax in the UK
Kingston Developments are pleased to announce that they adhere to the BSI PAS 76 standard for VAT in the UK. BSI recently released a new standard for VAT in accounting software in the UK. PAS (Publicly Available Specification)76 which was written alongside sofware developers and BASDA (British Application Software Developers Association). Kingston actually had some involvement in the design, making sure that KBS was up to the standard legally required by the HMRC. BSI RoHS Kitemark
After the implementation of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in July 2006 BSI have launched a standard called the RoHS Kitemark given to companies who adhere to all the criteria that BSI feels is necessary for total RoHS compliance.
One of Kingston's customers have already achieved this Kitemark so we can now confirm that the system is fully RoHS compliant! It should also be noted that KBS is the only 'off-the-shelf' package which provides this functionality.

BASDA involvement
Kingston continue commitment to BASDA. For many years now Kingston Developments have been an active member of BASDA (British Application Software Developers Association). BASDA are very vocal within the industry and have a lot of influence over the way that new goverment initiatives are implemented within software. Being a member of this association has helped Kingston to adhere to many new changes within taxation legislation as well as keeping abreast of the latest developments within the development market such as E-Commerce and other legislative changes.
For Kingston, being a member of this body has helped with legislative development in many ways and will continue to do so throughout the future.

Contract Management module
Kingston are pleased to announce the release of the Contract Management module. This module is designed to allow the user to manage contracts with customers where they have placed a global requirement for a set period of time and wish to call off quantities for delivery at any time over this period.

Purchase Order Management module
Kingston have launched a sophisticated new module to enhance KBS. The Purchase Order Management module is an addition to the standard package but provides users with the means to to manage their inventory and purchasing needs and to efficiently schedule orders to cover outstanding commitments and regulate stock levels.

User Group Meeting
In order to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, a user group meeting was held on Thursday 11th May 2006, allowing Kingston Developments to discuss recent and future developments with their clients.

NEW Enquiry Processing Module
October 2005
Kingston Developments is pleased to announce the release of Enquiry Processing. This module has been developed to enable users to manage the business of Non-franchised Product Procurement. It enables Enquiries to be easily recorded and it generates RFQs. These RFQs can be seamlessly converted into Customer Quotes and Proforma's, then into Orders. As with other KBS modules, a complete online history of transactions is maintained. Physical document handling is minimised by Kingston's Despatcher software.

Kingston launches the Production Control Module
November 2004
Kingston Developments announce the availability of a new PC module. PC is fully linked to other modules within KBS, but provides more control and reporting of the assembly process. It enables assembly, manufacture or may be used as a standalone kitting module. Features include user specified cost accounting, third party involvement, enhanced security, serial numbers and sub-assembly.
